LOCATION: Millennium Seed Bank, Wakehurst Place, West Sussex
You will help deliver RBG Kew’s mission by supporting the development and implementation of the SCD’s partnerships, projects and networks with a particular emphasis on delivering plant conservation, sustainable utilisation of plant resources, and the improvement of livelihoods.
You will support the International Projects Coordinator in managing the second phase of “Project MGU” (Useful Plants Project, UPP), including the preparation and reporting of meetings internally and in country during visits, as well as the compilation of project reports for the donor or other sources of funds.
Your overall responsibility will be to compile and manage information and data for the UPP database and support the production of dissemination and promotional material including project WebPages, species technical information sheets, leaflets and project book.
In addition, you will provide specific support for project implementation and development activities in country, which might include workshops, seed collecting, propagation and planting activities, income generation and dissemination of material.
You will have a BA or BSc (or equivalent) in Botany, Ecology, Conservation Biology or related discipline or a closely related discipline and practical experience of working with databases and/or GIS in conservation or a similar discipline.
You will have significant knowledge and experience of working constructively as part of a team and in assisting with project co-ordination or management across a multi-country technical network and working with partners either in Africa or Latin America.
You will be able to communicate fluently and effectively verbally and in writing, including preparing clear, concise reports and generating dissemination and/or promotional material for species and/or projects.
