Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

This is a rare opportunity to join our Research/Seed Conservation Department and conduct vital research into seed stress tolerance and phylogenetic relevance to the evolution of seed dormancy. As well as publishing your research data in peer-reviewed journals, you will also work to facilitate international collaborative networks and raise the profile of Kew’s scientific research.

With a PhD in plant molecular biology and post-doctoral research experience, you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with visiting scientists/students as well as colleagues. Good leadership ability and the skills to write and prepare scientific papers and articles will be essential along with the enthusiasm and knowledge to present information in a compelling and interesting manner to a variety of audiences.
