Are you an experienced Web Content Management System Administrator and can turn your hand to application development? Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge projects for a world leading scientific and cultural institution? If so, we could have the perfect position for you at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives.
 
We are looking for experienced individual, to play a pivotal role at Kew by acting as web content management systems administrator (Oracle UCM, Drupal etc) to the Biodiversity Informatics (science applications development) team and the Digital Media teams. You will oversee the development, management and maintenance of Kew’s WCMS and provide expert advice on web systems and administration more generally. In addition the post-holder will be expected to develop and provide support services covering the spectrum of web related applications and services at Kew (web, Intranet and mobile). The post-holder will be accountable for the delivery of specialist projects including their planning and deployment and will enable and support the delivery of RBG Kew’s Breathing Planet Programme

With a recognised qualification in Web Development/IT/Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent, or comparable work-based experience, you will have experience of administering a web CMS  and in the development, support and maintenance of applications using a web CMS . You will also have a proven in-depth knowledge and understanding of web and digital technologies, open standards and accessibility. Knowledge of Oracle UCM and open source WCMS and Drupal in particular, would be a distinct advantage.
